Northern Lights & Nordic Fjords.

Upon arrival at Bergen Airport, you will be met by our representatives and transferred to your hotel.

Relax into your surroundings if time allows before dinner at the hotel in the evening with the group.

Bergen is Norway’s second largest city, and is known as the capital of the west and gateway to the fjords. A UNESCO World Heritage city

This morning, we enjoy a city sightseeing by foot in Bergen. We will pass by sights of interests such as the fish and flower market and Bryggen Hanseatic Wharf. Later, we will go on a ride on the Bergen Funicular to the top of mount Fløien to enjoy great views over the fjords and mountains surrounding the city of Bergen.

Travel with the funicular back down to Bergen where the rest of the day is at leisure for you to explore the city.

We check out after breakfast and transfer to Bergen Station where we board the Bergen Railway, one of the world’s most scenic train rides, which will take us in land to Voss.

Our coach will drive us from Voss to Gudvangen where we will board a fjord cruise on the narrow and spectacular Nærøyfjord, sailing further inland to Flåm. Surrounded by steep valley sides and snow-covered peaks, thundering waterfalls and picturesque villages, this area has been named as one of the most beautiful fjord landscapes in the world and is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Upon arrival in Flåm, there is a short walk to the hotel, where we will enjoy dinner in the evening.

After breakfast at the hotel, we check out and walk the short distance to Flåm Station. Here we will board the famous Flåm Railway, one of the most beautiful and steepest standard-gauge railway lines in the world. Over 80% of the journey at a gradient is at 5.5% or higher.

We will travel through spectacular scenery, alongside the Rallar Road, up to the high mountains at Myrdal Station. In Myrdal, we change trains onto the Bergen Railway, one of the world’s most scenic train rides, which will take us south to Oslo, the capital of Norway.

In Oslo, there is a short walk to the hotel, with the evening at leisure. 

Today is free for you to explore Oslo, Norway's capital city. Situated at the head of the Oslo Fjord, Oslo is a great choice to experience architecture, museums and other attractions.

Highlights inlcude the Norwegian National Opera & Ballet, Holmenkollen Ski Museum & Tower, Akershus Fortress, National Gallery, Viking Ship Museum, Vigeland Sculpture Park, Fram Museum and Norwegian Folk Museum. 

Your tour director is on hand to help advise what to see and where to go. 

After breakfast at the hotel, we transfer to Oslo Gardermoen Airport for your flight north to Tromsø. Tromsø is located 350 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle and is the largest city in Northern Norway.

On arrival at Tromsø Airport, we will be met by our coach and drive to the magical winter wonderland of Tromsø Ice Domes. The ice bars, ice cinema, ice hotel suites and ice restaurant have themes changing each year, conveyed through beautiful coloured lighting and wonderful ice sculptures. Here will will enjoy a 1 hour guided tour of the Tromsø Ice Domes.

After lunch, we will get the chance to visit and feed a small herd of reindeer outside the ice domes, before transferring to our hotel in Tromsø where we will enjoy dinner this evening before we head out in search of the elusive Northern Lights!

The locations we will visit depend on the current weather conditions, but our guide has a lot of experience in finding and capturing the Northern Lights on camera and they will give you helpful tips so you can get the best results with your camera!

This morning, we head out to experience a husky dog trip with Alaskan huskies and experienced guides. Lean back and discover the beautiful mountain landscape of Kvaløya while an experienced musher safely drives your dog sled. Upon your return to camp, 300 Alaskan huskies are eager to meet you!

Afterwards, we will relax around an open fire in a “gamme hut” where hot drinks and a traditional Sami reindeer dish “Bidos” are served for lunch.

We then transfer back to Tromsø for a few hours rest and dinner at the hotel. In the evening, we head out to chase the elusive Northern lights. The locations we will visit depend on the current weather conditions, but our guide has a lot of experience in finding and capturing the Northern Lights on camera and they will give you helpful tips so you can get the best results with your camera!

This morning, we set off by coach to hit the snow on a scenic Snowmobile Safari, where you will see nature at its very best.

The area of the Lyngen Alps offers some of the most beautiful scenery in Northern Norway. It is a large wilderness playground where we follow some approved and well-established trails. Throughout the tour, we will always have focus on safety and we will make several stops on the way. The actual snowmobile tour lasts 60- 90 minutes and focuses on sightseeing, playing in the snow, taking photos and enjoying the fascinating surroundings of mountains, forest and fjords. The guide gives a good explanation on how to drive the snowmobile. There will be two guests on each snowmobile who may change seats halfway.

We return back to Tromsø and head to ice bar, for a great experience. With a winter poncho and gloves, sip a drink from a glass made of ice as you are amazed at the ice bar and ice sculptures depcting famous explorers and Arctic life.

We return to our hotel for a final evening dinner to round off our week in Norway.

N.B. Snowmobile Safari - Guests under 18 years and guests without a valid driving licence are not permitted to drive the snowmobiles. If local weather conditions change, the supplier reserves the right to amend the time spent on the snowmobile.
